The 3 B’s of Short-Term Outreach

When we send out short-term outreaches, our heart is guided by three simple but powerful priorities. First, we go to build the Kingdom. Every trip is centered on the Gospel, because we believe the good news of Jesus changes everything. We don’t just want to share words, we want to walk alongside people in discipleship and see lives and communities transformed by God’s presence. Our goal is not a quick impact, but lasting fruit that points people to Christ.

Second, we go to bless the missionaries who are faithfully serving long-term. Short-term teams should never be a burden but a blessing. That means coming with a posture of humility, ready to strengthen the work already happening on the ground. Whether it’s encouraging their hearts, lightening their load, or meeting practical needs, we want every missionary to feel refreshed and supported when we leave.

Finally, we go to be transformed ourselves. Every outreach is an invitation to die to self, gain new perspective, and grow spiritually. When we step out of our comfort zones and serve others, God shapes us in ways we could never learn from a classroom alone. Short-term missions are not just about what we bring to others, they are also about what God does in us as we follow Him into the nations.

We would love for everyone at LifeMission Church to experience going to build the Kingdom, and bless the missionaries to be transformed at least once. Going is an essential part of our mission strategy, and you will never be the same.
